Cable jacket is an improved Noise Reduction braided hybrid sleeving combining monofilament and multifilament PET yarns to create a full coverage expandable sleeve that substantially reduces noise, really nice tactile feel to the cable.

In 2013 , when Furukawa announced that they would discontinue the production of PCOCC-A copper, Oyaide and others had to consider what they would do to replace it.
After deep contemplation of the available options, many of which required unacceptable compromises, Oyaide decided that the best course of action was to make their own proprietary, brand new conductor. They decided to begin with commonly available virgin 99.99% pure copper to insure an uninterrupted supply. At the same time, they decided that their effort should be to create the finest copper ever made for use in high end audio cables. To this end they pulled out all of the stops, going for the most technologically advanced practices and using techniques that had never before been applied to the production of a copper conductor. 
The result is a new copper called 102 SSC. The 102 portion of the name alludes to the fact that after annealing, the conductivity of the copper is increased by 2.3%, and the SSC stands for Special Surface Copper – the result of final drawing of the strands through natural diamond dies that yields a variation in surface thickness of +/- 1 micron over the entire length of the conductor – a monumental achievement! 3 Element stranding completes the picture, with three different diameters of wire arranged in such a fashion that the spaces between conductors is minimized and the outer diameter of the assembly is stable and thoroughly consistent.

This results in a smaller outer diameter than the same gauge wire made with identical individual strands, plus a more accurate, stable and perfectly circular cross section.

Triple-layered shielding

We have advocated the importance of noise protection which becomes a defining feature of power cable. Although we accomplished certain results by applying star-quad shielding structure to L/i 50 series, considering customer demands and trends, we pursued producing updated product with a state-of-art technology. For TUNAMI, we developed triple-layered shielding structure.
The first layer of this structure converts electromagnetic wave into thermal energy by interfusing electromagnetic insulator. As the second layer, semiconductor layer (carbon) is employed for its characteristic that discharges static electricity without affecting its conductor. A copper foil shielding is set as the third layer to protect the conductor from external noise. Furthermore, drain wires, closely-situated to copper foil shield, make S/N ratio higher by connecting to earth ground.

Insulator

After the deep analysis for insulator, Oyaide selected polymer polyolefin that has different degree of hardness at interior and exterior to prevent negative effect by sympathetic vibration. Moreover, this material has a quarter of permittivity compared to common PVC and we paid careful attention to strengthen the cohesiveness of its insulator and conductor in order to infill random space and maintain a high-quality signal transmission.

Materials

■ Contacts
The basic material is deoxidized phosphor bronze (1.4mm thick) for strength and secure contact. When connected, they can take over 7kg load. Surface is thoroughly polished twice.

■ Plating
The manufacturing process is started from foundation coating. The material which was punched out as a part is polished by hand piece by piece after machined barrel-polishing.

The plating of the P-046/C-046 is a combination of 24k gold and palladium which were selected as a result of repeated listening tests. The inner gold layer is 1.5 microns thick and the outer palladium layer is 0.3 microns thick.

Body

■ Body
30% glass filled PBT has excellent machine-ability and provides superior electrical isolation. The highly rigid body of the P-046/C-046 effectively attenuates high-speed vibrations. All screws, which were originally designed for P/C series, are made of highly rigid stainless steel which is non-magnetic substance. Moreover, the cable cannot be separated from the plug by a force less than 30kg, a significant safety feature.

■ Stainless screws
The screws of P/C series are all made of highly rigid stainless so its screw head doesn't collapse even if you give them too much strength. In addition, because it is non-magnetic material, it helps to achieve hign S/N ratio without being magnetized at its conection part.

■ Outer cover
The outer cover of P/C series is made of PC(PolyCarbonate) for its rigidity and hardness. It helps to attenuate tiny vibrations in quick response and reduce distortions by its superior mechanical strength.
